Individual Psychotherapy for Adults
Depth-oriented psychotherapy that helps you better understand the patterns that shape how you experience yourself, your relationships, and the challenges you face.
Sessions are typically 50 minutes and are offered both in person in Old Wethersfield and virtually for clients throughout Connecticut.
Common Concerns
People seek therapy for many reasons. While each person's experience is unique, I commonly work with adults struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, personality disorders, and other longstanding emotional and interpersonal patterns. Some of the concerns I most commonly help people address include:
Relationship difficulties
The relationships that matter most to us can also be the most difficult. If you find yourself caught in familiar conflicts, worrying about disappointing others, or struggling to feel understood, therapy can help you understand these patterns and build more satisfying relationships.
Identity and sense of self
Our sense of who we are develops through our relationships and life experiences. If you struggle with self-doubt, shame, insecurity, or uncertainty about who you are, therapy can help you understand these experiences and develop a more stable sense of self.
Depression and anxiety
There is often more to anxiety and depression than what we experience on the surface. These difficulties can be connected to underlying feelings, conflicts, and patterns in relationships that may not be immediately apparent. By developing a better understanding of what is contributing to these struggles, you can begin to respond to them in new ways and feel less constrained by patterns that have been difficult to change.
Trauma and its lasting effects
Traumatic experiences can continue to shape how you see yourself, relate to others, and respond to the world long after they have ended. Therapy provides a space to understand these lasting effects so they become less defining and more manageable.
